Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge Birding Festival, 2015

The 2015 Great Dismal Swamp wildlife festival will be held April 23-25 and will include an art exhibit, organized by Pam Ponce, of original bird prints and paintings. The festival is held every spring during the height of the neotropical songbird migration when one might see the greatest diversity of species. It's all part of International Bird Migration Day which "celebrates the incredible journeys of migrating birds between breeding grounds in North America and wintering grounds in Mexico and Central and South America"

D'Art Center Auction

This weekend is our big yearly art auction at my art center. I can't believe that Paris is the theme since I was just there! There will be lots of food, wine and music and of course, the auction, both silent and live. I finished my piece for the auction and here it is all framed and ready for action. After finishing the large linocut at the top, I added the etching at the bottom and two small linocuts. I inserted wire for their antennae, which is, unfortunately, difficult to see in the photo but it looks good in person!
